Published by kobby vice

It’s yet another 2nd division season in Ahanta West Municipality and we are already in the 5th week as far as the season is concerned. We have witnessed great games with great performances from teams performances and individual players.

Wednesday April 6, 2022 promises to give us another mouthwatering game between Agona Ahanta FC (The Whales) and Aboadiman FC (The Kundum Boys)

Both teams are in Group E in zone 2 of the 2nd Division of the Western Regional Football Association. This game promises to be an interesting one because of tension and also the huge number of supporters the game will attract.

It will be the first competitive game between the two sides.
Agona Ahanta FC who will play host to Aboadiman FC in this fixture has started the season on a good note. They have played 3 matches, won 2 and drew 1 and are yet to taste a defeat.

The travellers Aboadiman FC are enjoying a scintillating first season in the 2nd division with 5 matches played and are yet to taste a defeat. They have won 3 matches and have drawn 2 which put them on the summit of the Group 3 in zone 2 of the WRFA league log with 11points.

HOW TACTICS COULD PLAY A MAJOR ROLE IN THIS FIXTURE.

The two communities that these two clubs hail from coincidentally believe in one brand of football, that is playing possessive football to get results. Agona Ahanta FC boost of one of the best coaches on the Ahanta land as far as the 2nd division is concerned.

Coach Manzu has qualified the team for the sub middle league on two occasions and he is familiar and consistent with the team for almost 5 years. His preferred formation has always been the 4-3-3 mid-block, meaning he usually parades a strong 3 midfielders who can shield his defenders very well to avoid conceding goals. In addition to that, he normally starts his game with two sharp wingers who are prolific in front of the goal because he assigns a special duty to his leading attacker by deploying him as a decor to great space for the two sharp wingers. Coach Manzu’s tactics will play a major role on Wednesday March 6, 2022 if he is to win the game.

On the other hand, Aboadiman FC tasting the 2nd division for the first time in their club history, are being headed by two vibrant technical handlers who are part and parcel of the history of the young club. The Head Coach David Blinks supported by his young and brilliant assistant Evans Eshun Figo are both former players of Aboadiman FC. They led the team to qualify from the 3rd division last season smoothly without any difficulty. Coach David Blinks and his young charges have been a thorn in the flesh of many experienced coaches in Ahanta West and are causing a lot of problems for the clubs in their group.

He has collected 11 points out of the possible 15 points that were available and have scored an impressive 10 goals in the process. Aboadi community is known for their kente style of play, Champagne and entertaining football.

Coach Blinks and Figo born and raised in Aboadi have the same style of football thread in their minds. Coach Blinks like his rival Coach Manzu, prefers the fluid 4-3-3 with sharp attackers, brilliant midfielders and resolute defenders because of the stature of his players, who are naturally not physical compared to his opponent.

There are similarities in tactics and formation but the selection of the coaches on the day will have a big impact on the game. Fairly coach Manzu has the upper hand on this game because of his experience in the league.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Agona Ahanta FC experienced and former Ghana U17 player, John Kwofie aka Suarez will headline this important fixture because of the history he has with the two communities as far as his football career is concerned. He is arguably regarded as the greatest player on the Ahanta land because of what he has achieved in his football career. The big whale 🐳 has started the season on a good note with great performances and scored a belter in their first home game against Ahanta Soccer Believers.

The Kundum Boys of Aboadiman will go into Wednesday’s fixture with all guns blazing after their impressive start to the season. They boost an all-round team but are certainly going to be led by the great hunter Emmanuel Aluka who would likely be doing the famous Abesaa dance and weaving through defenders at Agona ‘Stamford Bridge’. He has 3 goals and 3 MVPs in five matches. Players like Nana Otoo, Richard Quayson, Nkwaku, Godsway Casillas and co of Agona Ahanta FC and Asare affectionately called by the XunCity people as Partey, Scott Mensah, Fuseini, Atta Kakra, Cudjoe and co of Aboadiman boost of great quality to whet the appetite of this fixture for the two most demanding supporters in Ahanta West Municipal.

This game is going to be entertaining, players would have to concentrate throughout the full duration of the game.

It is a game that demands good officiating and tight security for the free flow of the game. All said and done I think in my opinion Agona Ahanta FC stands at a 45% chance of winning, Aboadiman FC at a 40% chance of winning and a 15% chance of the game ending in a draw.
